Petrol Engine Car

The calculator includes an uplift for petrol engine vehicles driven in "real world" conditions and published in a June 2007 methodology paper published by DEFRA Passenger transport emissions factors: taking into account general maintenance and tyre pressure (increase of 1% for every 3 PSI under pressure), eco-driving (up to 5-10% reduction) and air conditioning use (increase of 5% for average mixed use): fuel consumption can increase up to 20-25% when on full power. It is estimated that today around 85% of new cars are sold with air conditioning systems fitted as standard, with nearly all medium and large cars having air conditioning as standard equipment.
